164,346 people in Orange County are affected by dementia or some form of memory loss.
Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and eventually the ability to carry out the simplest tasks. In most people with Alzheimer’s, symptoms first appear in their mid-60s. Estimates vary, but experts suggest that more than 6 million Americans may have Alzheimer’s.
Alzheimer's Orange County (AlzOC) offers guidance support and care for those who may be worried but who are well, to those who experience memory loss or dementia. We hold the hand of a family through the entire process – yes, even to the end. AlzOC continues to expand to meet the ever growing need, so does the incredible spectrum of services we offer to our community affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other related forms of dementia. We ask that you become a 2023 sponsor to ensure that over 164,000 OC residents affected by dementia have access to the free or low-cost opportunities for support, comfort, and care.
